Southport Dance Weekend - Wow what a weekend!
The theme of the fancy dress was Rome – Terry dressed as a Roman Centurion, Christine as a vestal virgin and Sue & Angela as Roman ladies. “Rowman” Dwain (complete with oars) won the first prize in the fancy dress – well done Dwain! Terry & Christine as ever danced in the cabaret – the storyline to which was Cleopatra & Mark Anthony. The final death scenes took on a life of their own and instead of play fighting with imaginary fists and knives … Christine & Terry used their knees and heads butts (in true South London style)!!
It was great spending time with other Dance Riviera dancers, meeting our dancing friends from all over the country and dancing some very memorable dances with new people too.
Well done to Wes & John for another fantastic weekend! We are already booked in for May and will be booking shortly for September!

(Hence the reason I looked so tired at Swanley on Monday night and have just got my thoughts together to blog the weekend!)

Jim & I had the most fabulous time (we weren't teaching and it was lovely to relax and enjoy the whole event from a different perspective). Lovely dancers, music, cabaret and catching up with dear dancey friends.
For those of you who have never attended a weekender, we know it's a fair way to go, but Southport is simply the best!
We're teaching at the 30 May event, hope to see some of you there too.
Jim & Nicky
